Week three here in my holiday style series. Wow, as the temperatures really started to drop this past week, the winter weather got me thinking about how to incorporate warmth into style. I know that personally, I really value comfort when it comes to dressing. One thing I really don’t like: being cold. I hate those nights out when I’m wearing a dress, and it’s below freezing. When I can actually feel my legs stiffening. So I wondered, how do I compromise? How can I look stylish while also staying (somewhat) warm?
In thinking about holiday style, I started to consider material (think silk or cotton) and what feels warm. And then I started to think about the fabrics that habitually pop up around this season. The answer: velvet. I mean, every single holiday season, velvet (or velour) shows up eventually. But now, fashion is transforming this material into something bolder, chicer.
This week: Velvet Pants
So, if you’re one of those people who hates the thought of a short dress in the same sentence with a winter night, browse these options for a very trendy alternative.
