We’ve all been there—you wake up in the morning, look in the mirror, and surprise! You have a huge zit staring back at you. It’s the worst, I know, but I am here to help! Here are five quick things you can do to help zap that zit away in no time.
I am sure you have all heard about this one before. Everyone and their mother (including the Hadid sisters) swear by this trick. All you do is dab a bit of toothpaste onto any zits, sleep with it on overnight, and by morning it should look significantly better! The toothpaste will help reduce redness and dry out the zit.
This is another one that you may have heard of. Basically what you do is take two parts water, one part Aspirin, mix it together, and leave it on the zit for 30 minutes. Aspirin is chemically similar to salicylic acid, which makes it great for fighting acne. This treatment will also greatly reduce inflammation.
3. Potato Slices
This is a bit of an unconventional method that may seem a little weird, but many people swear by it! You simply slice up a potato, take one of those slices, and massage it all over your face. This will gently exfoliate your face, and the acid in the potato will act as an antibacterial agent that will help fight against acne.
4.Tea Tree Oil
Tea Tree Oil is an amazing topical for treating acne. It destroys acne causing bacteria and acts as an antiseptic/anti fungal. The oil will also help unblock your sebaceous glands and balance out your oil production. You can either apply it directly to your skin or add a bit into your moisturizer.
5. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple Cider Vinegar is another really great product for your skin (it also has a million other health benefits!). Our skin is supposed to be a bit on the acidic side, and the acid from the vinegar helps balance it out. It will also help kill the bacteria on your face and aid in removing dirts, oils, and any leftover makeup. You simply mix one part vinegar with two parts water, and apply however you want (I recommend using a cotton pad).
Hopefully these tricks will help you out the next time you wake up with an unexpected visitor on your face. And if all else fails—there’s always concealer!
