Drinking enough water throughout the day is one of the most important things that you can do for your body. It will do countless good things for you including: helping to maintain a proper fluid balance, fight fatigue, allow for proper digestion, and even help clear your skin! Now, I don’t know about you guys, but I always find it so much harder to guzzle down the proper amount of water I need once the weather gets cold. One tip I have found that really helps me continue to get my daily dose of H2O is fruit infusion!
Fruit infusion is simply the act of putting cut-up fruit (and any other natural ingredient you may find fitting) in water, and allowing all of the flavors to fuse into the water, leaving you with a delicious, refreshing, and naturally sweet drink! Infusing your water with fruit will give it so much more flavor and make it much easier to get down. This is great for anyone who really just can’t stand the taste of plain water
The best part? Drinking infused water actually has a lot of health benefits to it! It helps you get a lot of nutrients in without trying too hard, it’s a fantastic metabolism booster, it can help flush toxins out of your body, and it can even boost your energy, which I know is one thing all of us college students could really benefit from!
Here are some of my favorite recipes:
- Watermelon + Kiwi + Strawberry
- Lemon + Lime + Orange
- Apple + Strawberry + Blueberry
- Cucumber + Lemon + Lime
- Orange + Blueberry
There are honestly endless varieties that you can come up with when it comes to infusing your water. Half the fun of it is just coming up with new recipes! You can always switch it up, which is great because you can never get too bored from drinking the same thing over and over again.
Hopefully this was of help to any of you guys out there who also struggle with drinking water during this time of the year!
