Nature has always been a great source of inspiration in terms of fashion, and Pantone’s picks for this season’s fall colors from its official Fashion Color Report demonstrate that perfectly with a lot of the chosen hues matching beautifully with the fall foliage. Here I’ll demonstrate how I’ve been integrating the seasonal colors into my recent outfits this week.
Described by Pantone as being “a spicier, zestier yellow than previous seasons,” Spicy Mustard is sure to add a vibrant punch to any outfit. Here I layered this sweater over a mockneck dress of a deeper mustard hue to create a monochromatic look.
Potter’s Clay and Warm Taupe are definitely the two “it” neutrals of the fall 2016 colors. With both being in the brown family, the combination of the much more intense Potter’s Clay and the subtle Warm Taupe works. I paired a faux leather jacket (a plus for vegan shoppers) with a bodycon skirt. I added everything else in this outfit in black to unify the look, as well as to stay within the neutral scheme.
To compliment the effect of Spicy Mustard, Aurora Red aims to be just as vibrant and “immediately pleasing to the eye.” For this last look, I incorporated the red with a plaid pattern in this flannel shirt dress and a cardigan.
