Healthy shots, that is. In the morning we may feel a little less on our “A” game. Many of us instantly head straight to the coffee maker. We should pause and make an effort to give our body some nutrients it may be missing. The body is very acidic in the morning because it cleanses itself overnight. We can give it a break from food and allow our organs to rejuvenate, so we can feel our best. This is our natural way of making us feel brand new. In order to help our bodies do this you can take high quality shots! They are called shots because they are full of nutrients and you don’t need to consume them in a big amounts.

Wheatgrass: It’s one of the best sources of living chlorophyll available today. To get the full use out of chlorophyll, it must come fresh from a living plant. It’s an effective healer because it contains many minerals and vitamins such as Vitamin A, B-Complex, C, E, and K. It’s high in protein, containing 17 amino acids. Wheatgrass can be used to purify the liver and neutralizes toxins in the body.

Turmeric Tonic: No, not the alcoholic tonic sorry! Turmeric is a superboost for your immune system. Turmeric comes from a plant called Curcuma, and has been used for thousands of years throughout China. This root has been used to fight cancer, treat inflammation and liver disease. Woah!

Aloe Vera: Many people are aware of aloe healing your skin, but not everyone knows the benefits of drinking it. Aloe helps stabilizes the immune system, eases stomach ache and acid, soothes redness and swelling, supports memory and overall mood. Thats not all aloe does—it contains a ton of nutrients like Vitamins A, C, E, and B12. It also has minerals such as zinc, potassium, and magnesium. Even though you are ingesting it, aloe vera still improves skin health!

Now, you can attempt to make these shots on your own or go to a local health food store and try them out for yourself. If you are ever in Cincinnati, check out Rooted Juicery + Kitchen.  Rooted offers organic cold pressed juices like you saw above and plant based food. It’s super healthy and good!
