Out With the Old and In With the Blue

By Hannah Wegman

Now that a new year and semester is upon us, many people take the time to try out some new style trends and shake up their usual outfit choice. I know all of us own something made of denim, but there are so many unique ways to wear jeans. This doesn’t mean you need to go out and buy a new pair of jeans – this process actually just requires you to think outside the box and hunt through your closet.

Jeans are an extremely versatile item. You can dress them up and down, wear them in any season you want, and there are so many different varieties. You can wear almost anything with jeans. Pairing a dark jean with a jean shirt is a perfect example.  A lot of people think that you can’t wear the two together because they’re so close in color, but this isn’t true.  An outfit like this works well when paired the right way.

When trying out a new style with your jeans, it’s important that you don’t focus on trends, but on your own personal style. As I mentioned earlier, jeans work well with almost anything. Whether your style is boho, preppy, sporty, grunge, or anything in between, you can find a jeans look for you. This will not only give you a look that you love, but it will also represent your own personality.

So, now when you’re trying out that new 2016 style, remember to not try to be anyone but yourself.  Try out new things, make mistakes or masterpieces, but always be true to yourself. Let’s make this semester the best one yet!
