Beyond Infinity

I think it’s safe to say that everyone liked Toy Story 3, unless you were one of those people that just didn’t like the Toy Story series in general. In which case you probably aren’t very excited to hear that there will be a Toy Story 4 coming out in 2017. As for the rest of us Toy Story fanatics, this news is either very exciting or somewhat disappointing.

Just take a minute and think back to the ending of Toy Story 3. Andy gave his toys to Bonnie and he was leaving for college. That was it. That was the ending. Nobody thought that there could possibly be another movie involving Andy’s toys, because they weren’t Andy’s toys anymore. They belonged to Bonnie now. Woody, Buzz and the gang were able to start a new chapter in their lives with a new owner to play with them.

Honestly I’m personally not sure how I feel about there being a fourth Toy Story. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Toy Story series. They’re probably my favorite Pixar movies. The third one was just the perfect ending to the trilogy. It had everything a viewer could want in a finale: happiness, sadness, triumph, humor and the perfect ending. However, the fact that Toy Story 4 is being directed by John Lasseter (who directed the first and second Toy Story movies) does gather some hope for the fans who may be a little skeptical about the next installment.

It’s also pretty smart of Pixar to want to make a fourth Toy Story, considering the third one grossed over one billion dollars worldwide, but whether or not the fourth one will as successful is the question. It’s hard to say whether the fans will be as welcoming to the idea of another movie. I’m sure there are many fans that think the fourth movie will kill and series and completely ruin it, while others will be eagerly awaiting 2014 in order to watch it on the big screen.

But whether or not you’re looking forward to the fourth movie, I think an important question that we all have is if Lots-o’-Huggin’ Bear will be making an appearance with the rest of the gang.
