How to wear shorts in cold weather

Listen UP, fashionistas!

You may have already packed away your shorts for the winter months, but it is time to drag them back out! Skip the leggings or skinny jeans, and style-UP you favorite pair or shorts.

Here are a few tips on how to be fashionable in the winter months:

1. Sheer Tights (Solid, Polka dot, or Patterned)
Sheer tights, preferably black, tie in well with any pair or shorts. Whether you pick jean, wool or cotton, you will be looking rather dapper. Sheer tights can also be a canvas for showing off a hot pair of heels, flats or boots!

2. Chino Shorts
To really vamp up the dressy factor of any pair of shorts, go with a more conservative fabric like a chino or silk blend. I love the idea of turning a pair of beige pleated shorts into a winter wardrobe staple by pairing them with black accessories and a solid leather jacket!

By and large, denim shorts can be awkward in the cooler months, if for no other reason than they tend to have a very “summer” vibe to them: they’re shorter, and tend to be cutoff, and those dangling hemlines just scream a day at the park or beach. But for a more sophisticated look for Fall and Winter, try a longer pair with rolls at the bottom over a dark-colored tight.shorts-tights-leather-park-jimin

4. Knee high socks

Add knee high socks with any pair of shorts to make your legs look longer. Whether you classify yourself as a hipster or a prepster, this ensemble will be a crowd-pleaser. Throw on a pair of long (or short) boots to dress it UP!
