From designing bridal gowns and runway couture to the Boy Scout uniform (who knew!?), Oscar de la Renta has done it all and left a distinct mark on the fashion industry. His passing was extremely unfortunate, but the fashion empire he has created will live on in his memory for years to come even after his death. His recent runways were no exception to his skillful, high-fashion design, with his Fall 2014 collection showcasing numerous staple looks.
While Oscar de la Renta’s couture style may seem out of the league of us college students, his fall runway featured looks that could be easily pulled off. Several looks included sweaters over skirts or dresses.
Whether neutral or patterned, a pullover sweater over a skirt is a polished look that’s perfect for looking cute and keeping you warm. Go for an edgier look like Oscar’s and pair a sweater with a leather skirt for a night out Uptown. Or, for class, go for a more classic look and wear a cardigan or pullover sweater over a simple dress. Here are a few options from Forever 21 and Asos.
There are multiple ways to rock this look, and it can be easily dressed up or dressed down. Either way, wear this outfit with confidence in honor of Oscar de la Renta and make him proud!
