Social media blew up with kind messages to the star. I’ve seen Tweets, Tumblr posts, and Facebook messages commemorating Williams and his most famous characters.

Robin Williams starred in a number of hit roles such as the teacher John Keating in Dead Poets Society (’89), Mrs. Doubtfire in Mrs. Doubtfire (’92), and Alan Parrish in Jumanji (’95). He made presidential appearances as Teddy Roosevelt in Night at the Museum (’06) and Dwight D. Eisenhower in Lee Daniels’ The Butler (’13). His comedic genius is also apparent in animated movies; Willaims voiced the Genie in Aladdin (’92) and Ramon / Lovelace in Happy Feet (’06).

Honor the actor, comedian, and cultural icon by watching one of his movies this week. Or at least this unforgettable video clip from Aladdin.

We’ll miss you, Robin Williams. Rest in peace.
