Oscars 2014: Celebs dive into plunging necklines

The best of the best actors and actresses came together Sunday night, for the 86th Annual Academy Awards and from what it looked like to us common folk, it seemed to be the party of the year.

Hosted by the beloved talk-show host Ellen Degeneres, the 2014 Oscars was the party of the year. At one point, Degeneres shocked everyone with her massive pizza order and Brad Pitt was even handing out paper plates. If that’s not a party, I don’t know what is.

It’s no surprise every celebrity stunned on the red carpet. (Anyone notice Liza Minelli’s blue bangs?) With teams of hair, makeup, stylists, and personal assistants flocking around, it’s almost hard not to look amazing at the Oscars.

Of all the looks that were seen at this year’s Academy Awards, the common trend many celebs dove into was plunging necklines.

Whether it was blue or cream, sparkled or simple, deep-V plunging necklines were a major hit last night as celebrities such as Kate Hudson, Lupita Nyong’o, and Charlize Theron were just some to rock the trend on the red carpet.

Lupita Nyong’o looked nothing short of a princess in her dreamy-pastel blue Prada gown. (Modern day Cinderella, anyone?)

Charlize Theron showed off her toned arms and svelte physique in a Dior Haute Couture piece. She even incorporated the sheer trend that is popping up for spring.

Between the gown, the side-swept hair and the smokey eye, Kate Hudson did Old Hollywood glam right in her Atelier Versace gown.  Image(Photo courtesy of EOnline)

Julia Roberts took a more elegant approach to the V-neck plunge trend in her Givenchy gown as lace covered her décolletage.

Even Kim Kardashian, who wasn’t present at the award show but attended a party afterward, flaunted her assets in a deep plunging vibrant red gown by Celia Kritharioti.
